Depth Perception (part 1: What if...)

I have been wrestling with this idea of spiritual depth perception. How much is the depth (or absence of depth) in my life because of my perception? If I alter my perception will I be able to have deeper blessings, hope, faith, joy, and contentment? Without going into to many details, (I will blog about that later) I wanted to share this song. What if...?

By Laura Story

Lyrics: We pray for blessings We pray for peace Comfort for family, protection while we sleep We pray for healing, for prosperity We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering All the while, You hear each spoken need Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things 'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops What if Your healing comes through tears What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise We pray for wisdom Your voice to hear We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love As if every promise from Your Word is not enough All the while, You hear each desperate plea As long as we have faith to believe When friends betray us When darkness seems to win We know that pain reminds this heart That this is not our home What if my greatest disappointments Or the aching of this life Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy What if trials of this life The rain, the storms, the hardest nights Are your mercies in disguise

  1. I also wonder about that! Our minds are so tiny and small compared to the majesty of God. We cannot for a second think we could ever figure out God. And I believe yes we take things for granted that are all around us-simple blessings like rain drops, sun rises, sun sets. Yes I believe we do miss out on the blessings that God wants to give us so much! I also think this world is so full of distraction that it is difficult yet we know there is a living God that loves us and who has created all this beauty around us. I think changing the depth perception could allow us to have an even deeper relationship with HIM! and that is what He ultimately wants! :)

  2. "Amen!" Dana I love the way your brain works! You are wise lady. :)
